Just Thinking - Walking With God
I Read Genesis yesterday and it started me thinking, was it easier to believe in God in the days of the Bible .
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. He was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. “ John 1:1 (NLT)
I mean, look at Adam, he walked with God in the garden of Eden (can you even imagine what it will be like, to walk with God in heaven. So it was when Adam walked with God), the Bible tells us that Enoch lives “in close fellowship with God for over 300 years” and then was taken away. Noah, once again we are told, “he walked with God” , so closely in fact that God “spoke” to him and told him His plans. God spoke to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. Some 400 years later, God spoke to Moses and led Israel out of bondage. God commanded Joshua through his conquests into the promised lands. Later through the tabernacle, the kings and prophets had direct access to God.
God spoke to the apostles through Jesus, and then touched them with His Holy Spirit when He was risen. So then, was it easier to shout the Glory of God, was it easier to believe when people were walking and talking with God .
So how do we walk and talk with God in today’s world. I hear voices, I think, thoughts really, but I never know, is it God giving me these thoughts, or are they my own. How do I know what are thoughts from God ?
Well the only way I know, is to spend time in the Word. When you’re spend time in his Word you are, in effect spending time with God. You are in His thoughts, in His mind and you can see the longings of his heart. You will see His wants and desires, His needs and His laws. Which makes Him much like us, after all, we were made in His image. His Spirit lives within us and through us. When we sin we grieve the spirit which translates into our lives. It reflects onto our individual spirit, and then into our lives.
The thing we need to remember, is that we are just like Him. This doesn’t mean however, that He is anything like us. His love is pure, His justice is perfect , His Word is true, none of which, can we say is true about us. Not as individuals, or society in general. Our love is not pure, otherwise there would be no hunger in the world. Our justice is being perverted more and more each day. And very few of us can be counted on for their word.
The Bible
The word God is righteous and true
The Word of God was written for you
So spread the Word
In all that you do
His glory was true
You can stand on his Word
When Jesus appeared
As was shown in the Word
God’s glory was mercy and grace
Spread through the faith
I am the the way , the truth , and the life ,
no one comes to the Father but through me
The Spirit brings mercy
love fills you up
You remember when Jesus
was filling your cup
The times you were thirsty
He lifted you up
Open my eyes Lord that I may see
Open my ears that I may hear
The very words that let you be
The Lord of my heart for
I am not worthy to look upon your face
I am not worthy but for your grace

The world is wearying to God , why is the world, crucifying Jesus Christ again. When he came the first time, he was rejected. Now if you mention his name, he is being rejected again, crucified all over, nailed to the cross. His patience is great, but definitely has an end. If we want God’s patience to linger we need to produce His attributes in our lives. We can learn to be pure in our love, we can make sure our words are true, we can make our justice system what it was meant to be. This country was founded on the Word of God and that’s where it belongs. Not only on but in the Word.
(The writer of just thinking (me) has had three strokes, while my thinking is somewhat sound, I apologize for the writing errors)
